The Strain: Vampire Horror in the Greatest City On Earth

Guillermo Del Toro and Chuck Hagan have partnered to write The Strain, the first in a trilogy of vampire books.
Over at Tor.com, they have an article describing The Strain as Dracula meets Fringe. They may be on to something, there. Based on the article, anyway, it has not a small number of similarities to both works.
Not mentioned, though, is the fact that Del Toro directed Blade II, one of my favorite recent vampire movies. While I’ve got a feeling that the partnership means he provided ideas for the characters and story while Hagan did most of the writing, it’s exciting to see a book about vampires getting a big launch (simultaneous release in 20 languages!).
The Strain comes out June 2.
